How fit do I need to be?

The best thing about hiking in Bryce Canyon is that there are incredible options for all skill levels. For beginner hikes, if you can walk for four to six hours with little elevation gain, you are good to go! Intermediate hikes will see a little more change in elevation and hikes will start to increase in length, hiking anywhere between four to eight miles. Advanced hikes are full-day treks with steep descents and challenging switchbacks. Keep in mind, the weather in summer can be very hot and you’ll also be packing a daypack filled with water and other things you’ll need throughout the day.

What do I need to bring?

Here’s a list of the equipment you need to bring: Day pack large enough to carry all the items listed (around a 25-40L bag, can be provided by guide) Hiking poles — optional Water bottle or hydration bladder (2L capacity) Closed-toed or hiking-specific shoes Comfortable, weather-appropriate athletic clothing Spare clothes for layering Waterproof rain jacket Sunhat Toiletries (sunscreen, hand sanitizer, bug spray, toilet paper, etc.) Headlamp or flashlight Sunglasses Camera — optional (but recommended) Dress comfortably and for the weather in clothes you can move in. We suggest bringing clothing appropriate for the season. Layers are best and don’t wear jeans.

Group sizes and prices: For the group adventures, the max client-to-guide ratio is 6:1. It takes a minimum of 2 people for a tour to operate. The cost does not decrease as the group grows. Hiking in Bryce Canyon can be arranged for larger groups. Contact us to make arrangements. Min. age requirements: If you are older than 18, you’re good to go. Minors younger than 18 may be permitted to join the hike on a case-by-case basis, but must be in the presence of a parent or legal guardian. If your group has hikers under the age of 18, contact us prior to booking to make arrangements.

Getting there and meeting location

To get to Bryce Canyon National Park, most people fly into the McCarran International Airport in Paradise, Nevada. From there, you can rent a car and go for a 4,5-hour drive to Bryce Canyon. You can also take a bus to Parowan, UT, and drive to Bryce Canyon, or take a local flight to Cedar City and drive there. Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, your guide will suggest the best place to meet, whether that’s at the guide shop or a predetermined location. The guide will choose the appropriate terrain dependent on conditions and the ability of the group.

In Bryce Canyon National Park, there’s an excellent day-hiking trip everywhere you turn. The canyon is famous for its concentration of hoodoos, unique thin and chiseled rock spires, which are considered to be the highest anywhere on earth. And while the hoodoos may not be climbable, they do make hiking in Bryce Canyon a uniquely scenic and otherworldly experience. There’s a grand total of 37 different day hikes here, both easy strolls and steep, challenging treks, all of which run through one-of-a-kind geography and provide excellent views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. And if you’re lucky, you get to enjoy watching the sunrise along the Rim Trail, either at Sunrise or Sunset Point. This is an absolute bucket-list experience and a common way to start or end guided tours at Bryce Canyon National Park.

Canyon exploring with Audrey

Audrey was an amazing guide!! She took the time to explain to us the step-by-step process and ensure we were always safe. She asked questions to understand our comfort levels and customized our trip accordingly. It was the most memorable part of our trip to the parks and definitely loved the thrill of climbing, descending, and exploring the amazing rock formations at all heights. Audrey was also very informative in pointing out and informing us of where and what the different canyons were. Absolutely recommend this experience and Audrey!! 10 Stars!!

We had a group of 8 that did a half-day of canyoneering with Mike & Hector. They were awesome guides, taught us the knots instead of just doing it for us, provided us with insightful facts and history about the area. They let us know to get there an hour earlier than scheduled to heat the rush and that ended up being great as we didn’t have to wait for any other groups. Just super friendly going and made sure we had a great time. They also took tons of great action shots of us and shared it at the end.

My partner and I had no idea what canyoneering even was but we booked a trip with Zion guide hub and I honestly can’t say enough good things. Our guide was Sonny and he was a pleasure. Not only did he make us feel safe but he made sure we were having the best time. He also was quite the photographer and kept reminding us to stop and take pictures which I loved. If you’re in Zion and looking for something exhilarating, beautiful, and fun then book your trip. P.s I have really bad asthma and though strenuous at times our guide made sure we were going at a good pace and letting us stop for breathers. 10/10 would recommend.

Cancellations up to 7 days prior to the trip date are refundable 100%.
