  • Start your day by hoisting the traps and pulling the net. Clear out the catch and start to refine it and prepare the menu for the week.

You’ll spend the rest of the day on the famous Kolå Peninsula, “El Dorado” of backcountry skiing. The exact peak will be defined by the conditions on the given day and determined during the briefing. What is certain is that when you reach the top, you’ll have a unique view of sharp peaks in the east, which you’ll explore in the next following days. Ski for about 10 km with 650 m in elevation gain. If the conditions are right, you’ll visit Bergehornet (1024 m) and add on 2 km to your tour. Board the boat in Vartdal and sail into Hjørundfjorden. Choose between two fabulous hiking alternatives, Dukkhornet or Kjerringkjeftane, that will give an unreal view of the panoramic landscape. Enjoy apres-skis and bonfire combo in the evening. This is good ground for winter fishing, so you can catch a couple of hake fish.

Bjørke is one of the oldest farm areas in the Hjørundfjord area. Graves found in Bjørke date back to about 600 AD.
  • Kick things off with a filling breakfast and freshly brewed coffee to get ready for the day ahead of you. Continue the journey across the fjord and head to Sæbø, the navel of the world. There will be plenty of ski options and the guide will recommend the appropriate terrain for the day. The classic option is Skårasalen. Here you can go up one side of the mountain and ski down the other and enjoy superb downhill skiing all the way to the fjord. You’ll reach Skår, a village with no road connections and with only two inhabitants and a pub. Board Jolly and have dinner in Rekkedal Guest House, an old family farm where buildings date back to the 15th century!
