Your adventure will begin with a short afternoon hike along Hurricane Ridge, one of the most visited sites in the national park offering breathtaking views of the Olympic Range. Tonight, you’ll set up camp at Sol Duc Campground, have dinner, get to know one another, and review the itinerary for the rest of your adventure.
-
After your breakfast, pack up and head to the magnificent Lake Crescent for a morning paddle on its blue waters. While soaking up the expansive landscapes, pay attention to the birds overhead. After the kayaking adventure, head to the Hoh Rainforest for a hike through the lush forest. You’ll have lunch and, in the evening, set up camp on Kalaloch Beach, one of the most spectacular spots on the entire peninsula.
-
On the third day of this exciting adventure, you’ll have breakfast and start exploring the coast. Witness the massive rock formations along the water and marvel at the famous Tree of Life which has not stopped thriving in spite of not having roots to hold it properly. Learn about the aquatic wildlife where the huge conifers grow right to the water’s edge and in the evening, have your delicious dinner and get ready for the next day.
-
After your breakfast and packing up the camp, make the drive off the peninsula to Ashford, at the foot of Mount Rainier (Tahoma). Lunch and dinner stops will be made, but are not included in the price. Tonight you’ll camp at Cougar Rock just inside the park’s entrance.

Today marks the most challenging day of hiking with a full day hike on Mount Rainier. The goal is to reach Camp Muir. After breakfast, you’ll continue hiking with a steady elevation gain above treeline with sweeping views along the way. Revel in the sightings of marmots, pikas and possibly black bears (from a distance) as you make your way through the alpine meadows. The final turnaround point will depend on the conditions and overall group pace, but you should be prepared for up to 8.5 miles (13.7 km) and 4500 ft (1370 m) of elevation gain. Have lunch and in the evening, you’ll have a hearty dinner back at the camp.
For those who prefer a more moderate adventure, short, alternate walks will be available around the visitor center for you to do at your own pace. -
After breakfast in the morning, go for a short morning walk. You’ll pack up camp and head back to Seattle to explore the city. The activities may include a visit to Pike Place Market, the Chihuly sculpture garden, or one of the many regional tribal cultural centers. Hotel accommodations are included, so you can enjoy a well-deserved shower today. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a final group dinner, which is, just like lunch, not included in the price.
-
Your guide will transport the group to the SeaTac International Airport at 10:00 AM. Please plan a departure after that time or be prepared to find personal transportation to the airport from the hotel if your flight departs earlier or much later. You’ll say goodbye to your guide after an amazing adventure together. No meals are included in the price on this day.
