There are incredible options for the less experienced in Norway, but due to the difficulty, you’ll need to be a seasoned long-distance hiker or at an excellent level of physical fitness. If you can walk for four to six hours with a little more change in elevation, you are good to go. Hikes require a high level of fitness, hiking anywhere between eight to ten miles per day. The entire round trip trail is 28-kilometer (17 miles) and will take you 800 meters up in the mountains. Any ounce of outdoor hiking experience will be of great value on Trolltunga’s slippery rocks. Keep in mind, the weather in summer can be very hot and you’ll also be packing a daypack filled with water and other things you’ll need throughout the day.
