To get to Aspen, most people fly into Denver International Airport, 3.5 hours away. From there, you can rent a car or take a shuttle service. You can also fly into Aspen airport (ASE) which is a 15-minute drive away. You can hire a rental car, arrange a shuttle with your accommodation, or take one of the free city buses. The climbing areas are only around 15-25 minutes from downtown Aspen, offering amazing views of the surrounding peaks and the Roaring Fork River.
Once you and your guide agree on the details of your itinerary, your guide will suggest the best place to meet, whether that’s at Aspen Expeditions’ shop, at the base of Aspen Highlands, or another predetermined location. The guide will choose the appropriate terrain dependent on conditions and the ability of the group.
This was my fifth season climbing with Aspen Expeditions, and each trip is better than the last. They’ve taken me on all kinds of missions – rock climbing, peak bagging and long hikes in the backcountry. Every year they impress me with their knowledge, patience and energy. They go out of their way to research and plan my adventures – and that kind of attention and dedication keeps me coming back as a client year after year. They have an excellent team and I highly recommend them.
